Fika

Fika at the Swedish Club

12 PM - 2 PM

Kvinnor Kan Book Club | 11 AM - 12 PM

Fika: A Swedish tradition brewed with community, culture, and good company

Join us for Fika, Sweden’s favorite way to slow down. Once a month, we gather for coffee, conversation, and shared bites—simple, cozy, and very Swedish.

Bring something to share—homemade breads, savory pies, sweet treats, or Scandinavian classics. Pull up a chair, pour a cup, and settle in. A highlight of every Fika: choose your vintage teacup—because coffee tastes better when you feel a tad bit fancy. Fika is about taking a pause, showing up for each other, and enjoying good things together.

Kvinnor Kan Book Club| 11am - 12pm

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | 2nd Wednesday of the Month

Founded in 2018 by former Swedish Club director Kristine Leander and inspired by the annual Kvinnor Kan event celebrating women in leadership, this book club explores stories by and about women from around the world. While Nordic authors are often featured, the club welcomes books with female protagonists from any background.

New members are always welcome! No need to have read the book beforehand—just bring your curiosity and love of good conversation.

Bonus: The club meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, conveniently coinciding with Fika, so you can enjoy coffee and treats while you discuss!
