About the instructor:
Kseniia Koshykova is an artist specializing in wheat straw weaving, a traditional folk art with roots reaching back to ancient Egypt. Originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, and now based in Kenmore, USA, she has practiced this craft since discovering it as a child at summer camp. Her work carries forward Ukrainian traditions like the Didukh, Pavuk, and straw Christmas stars, bringing a piece of her homeland's heritage into modern life.
In 2025, Kseniia spoke at Weaving Out West, the National Association of Wheat Weavers conference, where she taught classes on Straw Horse and Pavuk weaving and shared stories of Ukrainian resilience amid the war with Russia.
