Kvinnor Kan Book Club | 11 AM - 12 PM | The Frozen River

For September, our book club choice is The Frozen River (2023) by Ariel Lawhon. Set in Maine in 1789, this book combines historical fiction with a murder mystery. The central character is Martha Ballard, a midwife and healer, who records every birth, death, and crime that occurs in her small community. Her pursuit for justice now places her at the center of a scandal and a trial.

Advance notice: Our book choice for October is Forty Autumns: A Family’s Story of Courage and Survival on Both Sides of the Berlin Wall (2016) by Nina Willner.

Start time: 11 am / Library.  All are welcome to join us, whether or not you’ve had a chance to read this month’s book.
